What this tool does
Computers store every character as a number made of bits (0s and 1s). This converter shows the binary for each byte of your text, and can turn binary back into readable text. It's great for learning how character encoding works.
Example
The letter A is 01000001 in binary. The word Hi is 01001000 01101001.
UTF-8 note
Text is encoded as UTF-8, so characters outside basic English (accents, emoji) may use multiple 8-bit groups.
Limitations
- Decoding expects bits in groups of 8. Spaces between groups are optional but help readability.
- Invalid characters (anything other than 0, 1 and spaces) will fail to decode.
