What this tool does
This parser splits a URL into its standard parts and lists each query parameter with its value already URL-decoded. It is useful for debugging links, analytics tags, redirects and API endpoints.
The parts of a URL
- Scheme —
https,http,mailto, etc. - Host — the domain, e.g.
example.com. - Port — optional, e.g.
8443. - Path — the resource location, e.g.
/path/page. - Query — key/value pairs after
?. - Fragment — the part after
#, used for in-page anchors.
Example
In example.com/page?q=hello+world, the parameter q decodes to hello world (the + represents a space in query strings).
Limitations
- The URL must be reasonably well-formed. Relative URLs without a scheme may not parse; add
https://.
Privacy: Parsing happens in your browser; the URL is not sent anywhere.
